Internal Communications Manager/Mid-Level Writer

TwoTech, Inc. seeks a creative, proactive, and motivated Internal Communications Manager/Writer-Editor to join our USAID ERM support team at the at a manager level. The ideal candidate will be well versed in strategic communications and will be expected to manage the creation and implementation of cross-cutting, innovative, effective communications strategies and expanding USAID’s reach, influence, and audiences through a variety of means. The Communications Manager will work closely with all USAID ERM program staff to help develop marketing and dissemination strategies for various products, reports, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong instinct to innovate and experiment with new ideas, deep working knowledge of current marketing best practices, and relevant communications experience. Experience working with USAID is preferable. Job Duties/Responsibilities include (not all inclusive): The successful candidate will work on tasks associated with Communications, Policies and Procedures, and backstop on ERM operations support. Oversee the work of other contract team staff regarding the execution of the activities, tasks and deliverables. Plan, develop and execute the strategic ERM Communications Plan. Develop the Communications and Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy based on an approved workplan and project plans and objectives. The strategy should include an implementation plan with measurable outcomes. Maintain a communications calendar with key events, dates, and deadlines throughout the year. Conduct regular monitoring and annual evaluation of communications and knowledge management inputs, outputs and outcomes and adjust the strategy as needed, with input from CFO and ERM stakeholders. Manage overall communications during the planning, execution, and follow-up of CFO/ERM events, which may include agenda setting, planning committee meetings, abstract reviews, event promotion, knowledge capture during events, and reporting and dissemination after events. Lead enhancement of ERM’s website to develop the webpages and content, with new and engaging content, including news/announcements, new resources, etc. Coordinate, prepare and review a wide range of reports, briefings, presentations, and other materials; including assembling, analyzing, and communicating facts related to areas of strategic importance to the ERM and IC division Provide efficient and effective communication strategy from conception through delivery, evaluation and assessment using repeatable and adjustable models reflecting industry, government and non-governmental organization best practices Contribute to the content and design of ERM and IC ad-hoc, quarterly and annual reports Develop and maintain a communications strategy for the division to highlight achievements and effectively communicate progress ensuring that the strategy is aligned with USAID’s agency objectives. Provide quality assurance related to informational content and product development including PPTs, fact sheets, case studies, success stories, brochures, profiles, and the preparation of talking points. Education/Experience/Skills Requirements: The Communications Manager/ Writer-Editor must possess a master’s degree and 5 years of experience related to the work being performed; or a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to work being performed and 8 years of relevant work experience. Experience in strategic communications and change management, strong writing, editing and oral abilities, and leadership and interpersonal skills is required. Experience with ERM at a federal agency; and Facilities Access or Clearance is preferred.
