About the Role
TheHead of Human Resourcesreports to theChief Financial Officerand works primarily with members of the executive management team as well as managers from all functional areas. This role partners with senior leadership to build, develop, and execute Blum’s strategic goals while serving as a visible cultural leader across the organization.
The position plays a critical role in aligning people strategy with Blum USA’s business objectives and supporting a collaborative, social, and engaging work environment.
What You’ll Do
Strategic & Executive Partnership
Partner with the CFO and executive management team to build, develop, and execute Blum’s strategic goals
Maintain alignment of the HR department with Blum USA’s strategic objectives
Translate business strategy into workforce plans and capability development
Serve as a cultural leader, working to maintain and strengthen Blum’s core values and attributes
Human Resources Leadership
Plan and direct all aspects of the HR department’s work activities and the implementation of HR-sponsored programs and initiatives
Maintain overall responsibility for recruiting, selection, hiring, onboarding, safety, employee relations, performance management, and employee services
Manage the identification of future talent needs and develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans
Manage employee relations issues in the best interest of employees and the organization
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
Design, propose, and manage competitive, financially sustainable compensation and benefit programs
Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop a competitive compensation plan
Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and reporting requirements
Mitigate employee-related risk through proactive policy, training, and compliance practices
Development, Culture & Communication
Support employee development, organizational development, succession planning, training, and leadership development
Initiate, research, develop, and deliver employee development processes
Provide coaching and mentoring services to members of the management team regarding human performance improvement concepts and practices
Direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal communications to inform employees of benefits, compensation, and personnel policies
Operations & Administration
Formulate policies and procedures for recruitment, testing, placement, orientation, company forms, documents, handbooks, and management manuals
Prepare the Human Resources department budget
Prepare documentation for visas, extensions, and green card processes
Who You’ll Work With
Reports to theChief Financial Officer
Works closely with executive leadership and managers across all functional areas
May work occasionally with attorneys, government officials, and representatives from local businesses
What You Bring
Education
Undergraduate degree inHuman Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or Education(required)
Advanced degree orHRCI-SPHRorSHRM-SCPcertification (a plus)
Additional training in legal issues, federal and state laws, and business theory/practices (preferred)
Experience
Minimum of12 years of experienceacross various HR roles
At least5 years in a senior leadership position
Experience in amid-sized industrial manufacturing environmentwith a500+ employee workforce
Demonstrated experience supportinginternational or multi-country workforces
Knowledge
Human resource policies and practices including recruitment, selection, promotion, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HRIS
Business and organizational planning, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coaching methods
Adult learning, training, organizational development, and performance management
Federal and state laws governing Human Resource management
