Machine Operator

Manufacturing Equipment OperatorResponsible for preparation, set-up, start-up and operation of manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications, manufacturing standards and ensuring that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.Essential Duties & FunctionsSet-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce parts to specificationEnsure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time, materials, production rate and material consumptionMachine readiness -- inspect machinery, equipment and tooling prior to set-upIdentify issues that adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolutionPerform routine maintenance and cleaningIdentify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolutionEnsure parts produced meet established quality standardsPerform housekeeping dutiesFollow Good Manufacturing PracticesComplete all shift documentation/paperworkShift hand-off -- review job status' and provide updates to incoming shiftReact with urgency to equipment downtime or other extraordinary conditions, and notify supervision whenever such conditions occurSkills/QualificationsMust possess basic skills to setup, load and unload material from manual and automated equipment with little supervision.Must possess basic computer skills, data entry skills and the ability to operate and load simple computer programs to run manufacturing equipment and machinesAbility to operate with speed and accuracy, and collaborate effectively with others on the teamDemonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environmentRequires strong communication, interpersonal, business, technical, analytical, and planning skillsDisplays leadership competencies, including ability to delegate, engage, and inspire othersAble to coach, and train line production workers to optimize productionMust have the ability to expedite solutions when situations ariseHas knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular fieldPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
