Summary: We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support financial operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and risk management while working cross-functionally to drive efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes. As an Assistant Controller, You Will: Assist in supervising and mentoring the accounting team, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures Ensure timely completion of payments, bank deposits, and financial transactions Review and support quarterly and annual budgeting processes across departments Analyze financial performance, including cost and profitability metrics Establish and track financial KPIs to support business objectives Build and maintain risk assessment models to evaluate financial decisions Prepare regular financial reports and ad-hoc reporting as needed Maintain accurate and organized financial records and filing systems Perform internal audits and assist with external audit processes Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls Develop and manage cash flow forecasting, including 13-week forecast models Support intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliation and elimination entries Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting procedures, and financial regulations Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Experience with financial systems implementations is a plus Strong background in cash management and financial risk assessment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to leadership Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required CPA certification strongly preferred Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(K) Paid Time Off Salary: $80K-$110K Ask for: Hersha Dwyer Job Id: 26097 Ajulia Executive Search is a New Jersey based Executive Search Firm specializing in retained searches in multiple sectors, including Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Legal, and Pharmaceutical.
