General Maintenance Worker

Position: General Maintenance Technician Location: 1616 Arkansas Rd, West Monroe, LA 71291 Schedule: 9-hour shifts, 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) Job Summary: Virginia Downs is hiring a versatile and experienced General Maintenance Technician to handle a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks across the property. The ideal candidate should be skilled in multiple trades—including plumbing, electrical work, plastering, drywall, carpentry, roofing, painting, and flooring—and take pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and staff. Key Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance and repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical systems, drywall installation and repair, carpentry, roofing, flooring, and painting. Troubleshoot issues across different systems and perform timely, cost-effective repairs. Carry out preventive maintenance routines to minimize breakdowns and extend the life of property assets. Assist with unit turnovers, including patching, painting, minor fixture replacements, and floor touch-ups. Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests with urgency and professionalism. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean and safe condition. Work collaboratively with management, contractors, and other technicians to complete larger projects. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and building codes. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
