Multiple Open Rank Faculty Positions – Artificial Intelligence Cluster JobThe University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for a cluster of distinguished faculty positions in artificial intelligence (AI). The cluster focuses on "Strong AI" systems that integrate human-curated domain knowledge, are explainable, responsible, and secure.Job SummaryThe positions are open-rank (tenured or tenure-track) and are expected to commence September 1, 2026. Faculty will work in the College of Business, College of Engineering, or College of Science, with the tenure home in one of those schools.ResponsibilitiesConduct world-leading research in Strong AI, including but not limited to neural-symbolic AI, human-in-the-loop machine learning, probabilistic modeling, explainability, secure AI, and AI for education.Secure external research funding, build and lead a team of student researchers, and publish top-tier research.Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, develop curriculum, and engage students from diverse backgrounds.Serve the university and the broader community through professional service.Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration across colleges and departments.Required QualificationsPh.D. (or equivalent) in a related field with a strong focus on Strong AI.Strong publication record and a sustainable research program with existing external funding or strong potential for funding.Commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative, dynamic teams.Preferred QualificationsStrong promise of extramural grant funding, particularly for assistant professor applicants.Experience in interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary research environments.Areas of Priority by CollegeCollege of BusinessAI and cybersecurity, AI/ML and data science applied to business problems, preference for cybersecurity expertise.College of EngineeringAI/ML applied to health informatics, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, and public health informatics.College of ScienceAI/ML applications in biomedical research, command over computational biology, genomics, and related areas.EEO StatementUTA is committed to equal opportunity and prohibits unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and other protected characteristics.ADA AccommodationsUT Arlington provides reasonable accommodation.
