We offer a guaranteed starting wage of $26.00/Hr. along with scheduled increases and a benefits package that includes, but is not limited to, health, dental, and vision insurance, a competitive 401K match, a paid life insurance policy, a paid birthday holiday, and much more!Schedule 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm Friday overtime optionalAreas of AccountabilityAll areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and TeamworkSurface PreparationHigh-Pressure Steel Grit BlastingPaint ApplicationQuality InspectionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate forklifts and/or telehandlers to organize units and move them in/out of Blast/Paint RoomLoad and/or hang units onto racks, fixtures, jigs, sawhorses, and/or standsMask and protect specified areas from abrasion with tape and/or paper; evenly apply caulking beads to seams of assembled unitsSet up and use high-pressure blasting equipment to abrade metal surfaces to remove mill scale, paint, rust, and/or dirtApply primer then paint and other finishes using brushes, spray guns, and/or rollers; select and mix coating additives to thin or promote drying and adhesion, as neededElectronically track hours worked on each unit to better understand efficiencies and actual production costsPerform quality inspections throughout blasting/painting processesSweep Blast Room to reclaim steel grit into collection systemMonitor dust collector and fresh air systems and document readings and any required maintenance including filter changesDisassemble paint and blast equipment and clean equipment, using solvent, wire brushes and dry clothTroubleshoot equipment and perform minor machine maintenanceComply with all safety and environmental regulatory compliance requirementsMaintain regular and predictable on-site attendanceQualificationsManufacturing experience, desired; experience with manufacturing heavy machinery, a plusAbility to pass in-house forklift/telehandler certification; previous experience with forklift/telehandler, preferredExperience steel and/or sand blasting, preferredExperience applying sprayed paint, preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to work systematicallyAbility to accurately read and interpret documents and instructionsAbility to focus and remain in Blast/Paint Booth for up to 2 hours at a time, or until unit is completedAbility to perform tasks independently and remain organized in a fast-paced environmentMust be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposesPhysical RequirementsConsistently drag up to 100 poundsConsistently lift/carry up to 75 poundsConsistently bend at the knees and/or waist in potentially awkward positionsFrequently crawl and lay on floor and under equipment for underbody blastingFrequently climb ladders or sides of trailers up to 10 feet; frequently perform duties on an elevated surfaceConsistently perform hand and wrist movementsAbility to distinguish colorsStand up to 100% of the workdayWork in restricted spacesWear head-to-toe protective suit and helmet, up to 2 hours at a timeAbility to work in an environment with extreme heat, cold, wet/slippery conditions, and/or loud noise levels; partially work outside year-round
