Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer / Founding Field Architect Location: Portland, OR (Greater Metro Field Operations) Position Type: Full-Time, Executive Tier Compensation: $185,000 – $210,000 USD Annually (Base + Performance Bonuses). We are offering a high-autonomy, high-compensation role where you will directly co-create our operational foundation, oversee our elite field integration teams, and pioneer advanced applications of high-performance natural material science.Minimum QualificationsLicensure: Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Oregon. Structural Engineering (S.E.) credential is highly preferred. Must be legally qualified to calculate, stamp, and take ownership of structural load paths.Experience: 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, heavy foundation design, structural steel, or deep-earth shoring.Technical Literacy: Proven experience with sub-surface scanning interpretation (Ground Penetrating Radar / GPR), structural CAD modeling, and concrete composite physics.Mindset: Extreme professional discretion, high tactical maturity, and a deep reverence for material science. You must be completely open to applying the advanced properties of natural stone aggregates to technical structural blueprints without conventional ego.Core Field ResponsibilitiesSubsurface Intelligence: Personally execute or directly oversee Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and geotechnical scanning at client properties to analyze bedrock profiles, soil densities, and subterranean utility lines.Structural Load Calculations: Run exact structural math and pathing metrics for heavy, concentrated physical payloads (up to 5,000 lbs), verifying foundation, joist, and slab integrity within historic urban estates and expansive rural compounds.Blueprint Architecture: Produce finalized, stamped CAD and engineering schematics that seamlessly blend traditional structural parameters with our proprietary multi-layered geological foundations.Excavation Oversight: Direct on-site excavation teams to ensure local soil substrate removal meets exact depth and compaction specifications.Geological Quality Control: Inspect and verify the precise sourcing, layer sequence, and density ratios of our custom aggregate bases (including specialized quartzite, shungite, and tourmaline layers).Geodetic Alignment: Manage the exact physical placement, depth orientation, and anchoring of specialized structural geodetic pinning arrays into the foundation substrate.Advanced Material Pours: Supervise custom concrete pours, ensuring the complete replacement of traditional steel rebar with non-conductive Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) systems to preserve clean environmental fields.Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as the direct executive manager and technical mentor for our two Field Integrators, training them to execute precision rigging, leveling, and advanced material handling.Discreet Logistics Management: Coordinate specialized rigging operations during the "Last Mile" of asset delivery, ensuring flawless placement with total neighborhood anonymity and operational security.Structural Post-Audit: Conduct final engineering sign-offs on the vault room, verifying plumb-line precision, door hinge resistance, seal integrity, and environmental stabilization before site handover.To ApplyPlease submit your professional CV, proof of Oregon P.E./S.E. licensure, and a brief statement detailing why you are ready to apply your engineering mastery to a highly discrete, independent, and legacy-focused startup environment.Basalt & Bond, LLC is an equal opportunity employer operating under strict private client non-disclosure protocols.
