HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST SIS

Human Resource GeneralistShared Ice Services (SIS) is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to support our shipbuilding workforce at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders located in Freeland, WA. This is a 100% in-office role, embedded in an active shipyard environment, supporting leaders and employees across operations, trades, and administration. SIS provides shared HR services for Nichols Brothers Boat Builders and Everett Ship Repairkey companies within Ice Cap Holdings and the Pacific Northwest maritime industry. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a hands-on, operational setting and enjoys being a visible, trusted partner to the business. What You'll Do Serve as the on-site HR point of contact for employees and supervisors Support employee relations, performance management, and workplace issue resolution Administer onboarding, benefits, leaves, and personnel changes through HRIS Maintain accurate, confidential employee records (electronic and paper) Support recruiting efforts, including postings, applicant tracking, and hiring coordination Coordinate 90-day and annual performance review cycles Ensure compliance with federal and Washington State employment laws Reinforce company policies, safety standards, and workplace expectations Generate HR reports and analyze workforce trends (turnover, absenteeism, staffing) Assist with training coordination and workforce development initiatives Perform other duties as assigned QualificationsQualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, maritime, or industrial environments Strong employee relations and coaching skills Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, on-site setting Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS required SHRM-CP preferred Benefits Competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, health savings account and 401(k) with match Paid time off and Employee Assistance Program Group Life Insurance with Optional supplemental life and disability insurance Strong culture of learning with state-certified apprenticeship programs Opportunity to support a highly skilled workforce building complex, custom vessels Shared Ice Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
