Primary Function: Assists Craftsmen engaged in fabrication of structural or sheet metal products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Lift, position, and remove work into and from position and maintain orderliness of shop. · Capable of making measurements, learning to read blueprints and assisting in layout. · Capable of learning to weld, cut and polish using various methods. · Complete preparatory work for metal prior to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping. · Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
