Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join GEMCO Constructors’ expanding engineering team in Carmel, Indiana. In this role, you will design electrical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. You will develop detailed construction documents, perform engineering calculations, and collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure successful project completion. This on-site position is based at our headquarters with no travel required. The ideal candidate has experience creating permit-ready construction documents for both design-build and plan/spec projects and is proficient in coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines using AutoCAD and other electrical design tools.Responsibilities: Design electrical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects. Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations. Develop power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage system designs. Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines. Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with NEC and applicable building codes. Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support during construction phases. Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and assist with field coordination as needed. Support value engineering initiatives to improve constructability and project efficiency.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within commercial or industrial construction. Proven experience preparing construction documents for both design-build and plan/spec projects. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across disciplines. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a clear pathway to PE licensure.GEMCO Constructors is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
