Building Maintenance Engineer

Facilities Maintenance AssistantAssist the Facilities Manager in overseeing, maintaining and improving all creative werks' buildings and grounds.Responsibilities of the Position:Assist in the installation, inspection, adjustment, preventive maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, and compressorsExecute & update work requests, work orders & inspections thru CW's CMMSMonitor thermostats and ensure facilities stay within the approved temperature ranges by zoneRepair and replace plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets, and pipes (copper, PVC, black, etc.)Perform carpentry work including the construction, installation, remodeling and repair of cabinets, partitions, walls, windows, doors, roofs, foundations, and other carpentry work, as directedAssist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of floor coveringsUnderstand and operate a variety of mechanical tools and equipment, such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, sewer augers, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance workRead, interpret and understand sketches, diagrams and blueprintsPerform painting projectsPerform snow removal duties as neededAssist in the repair and maintenance of electrical lighting systems and fixtures, such as changing ballasts, transformers and bulbs, Life SafetyAssist in the performance of preventive maintenance activities, and the maintenance of related records and logsAssist the Facilities Team with inspection of the facilities to identify building maintenance needs and safety issuesEnsure all CW Facilities stay Food Safe Compliant and adhere to our internal Food Safety Policies & ExpectationsAssist in moving cubicles, furniture and office contentsHanging pictures and other items on wallsChanging locks, repairing, or replacing door hardwarePicking up / dropping off items between CW locations and suppliersOther duties as requested by Facilities ManagementKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Basic understanding of mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and structural systemsWell organized with attention to detailExcellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to professionally communicate with diverse populations; polished customer service skillsAbility to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously, without losing focus or attention on any one; not afraid to ask for help when neededSelf-motivated, with "ownership thinking" perspective applied to decision makingValid drivers license and insurability under the company's insurance policyUsing a personal computer to input and retrieve informationAbility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on an on-call basis as neededEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years' experience in building/property maintenance, construction, or related engineering field experience with commercial properties preferredFood Safety Responsibilities:Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)Participate in company GMP walksEnforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoringWorking Conditions:Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 80 degreesSome tasks may require working near localized thermal elements that can cause the perceived temperature to be higher until the task is completedCapable of complying with all Safety requirements including but not limited to Bump Cap/Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear, Hearing Protection and Disposable MasksEmployee will be required to drive to each of CW's facilities and may receive a Mileage Expense based on current CW policy.Physical Requirements:Physical dexterity to perform installation and troubleshooting work with the facilities (interior and exterior) safely and efficiently.Operate standard office equipmentAbility to use ladders, scaffolding, and/or a scissor lift while performing job dutiesWalk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects utilizing proper tools and leverage methods in excess of 75 lbs
