Assistant Plant Manager:On behalf of our Manufacturing client, Procom is searching for an Assistant Plant Manager for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client's Champaign, Illinois office. Assistant Plant Manager - Job Description:The Assistant Plant Manager will support the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations at Hudson Technologies' manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in maintaining production flow, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Assistant Plant Manager - Responsibilities:• Support the Plant Manager in day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and safety. • Act as a liaison between leadership and production teams to communicate priorities and performance expectations. • Oversee production schedules to meet output goals while maintaining high quality and minimizing downtime. • Supervise and coach production leads and operators, promoting a culture of safety and continuous learning. • Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment performance and product compliance with required standards. • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify process improvements and corrective actions. • Participate in audits, safety meetings, and operational reviews while ensuring documentation accuracy. • Step in for the Plant Manager when needed, maintaining operational continuity and strong communication across departments. • Support employee onboarding, training, and development initiatives that build a high-performing, safety-focused culture. Assistant Plant Manager - Mandatory Skills:• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical discipline (preferred). • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing, production, or chemical handling. • Lean Six Sigma certification required; Green Belt or higher preferred. • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements, safety standards, and quality control systems. • Proven ability to lead teams, problem-solve, and execute operational plans with minimal supervision. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or similar). • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work safely around heavy equipment and pressurized systems. Assistant Plant Manager - Nice-to-Have Skills:• Experience working with refrigerants, compressed gases, or other regulated materials is a plus. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Willingness to be hands-on and flexible in a dynamic operational setting. • Familiarity with AHRI700 standards. • Experience in a mid-sized technology company.
