3rd Shift Tuesday 12:00 Midnight until Saturday 8:00 amConversion Seamer OperatorSummary/Objective:The Conversion Seamer Operator is responsible for the Safe and efficient operation of production machinery, primarily Seamers, but possibly other equipment as needed.Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Conduct daily safety inspection of work area and addresses noted issuesPrepares production supplies including tape, cores, and solventConducts daily inspection and preventative maintenance of machineryConducts general set up of production machineryInstalls plates, rollers, guides, blades, and related equipment on machineryReads job specification sheet to determine job requirementsEnters tolerances and parameters into machine computerLoads, centers, and webs product into proper machineMaintains proper speeds and settings of machinery throughout shiftRoutinely checks product samples against job specificationsConducts Quality procedures including inspection of finished goods for quality defectsCompletes required paperwork for each jobPacks finished product for shipment to customerCleans up machine and work areaMeets production and quality goalsAssists in training of new employeesAssists with other tasks as neededComplies with all Plant RulesAll other appropriate duties as assigned by the management teamReports to: Conversion Department SupervisorMechanical Aptitude: Ability to learn and understand machine operations and the use of the proper tools for the jobAttention to Detail: Ability to focus while maintaining important detailsCritical Thinking: The ability to quickly identify a problem and find a solutionComputer Competence: Knowledge of basic computer skillsSelf-Reliance: Must be able to work independentlyInnovation: Must demonstrate an open and growth mindset, embracing change, stepping out of comfort zone, and applies creativity in generating ideas and solutionsFlexibility: Willingness to cross-train on different jobs and machines in conversion and other departmentsSafety: Compliance with all safety regulationsCleanliness: Comply with 6s by maintaining a clean and organized work areaDependability: Regular reliable attendance and demonstrates strong work ethic
