The GM serves as the primary customer interface for major leadership decisions, including proposal approval and contract negotiations. The GM champions continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, Six Sigma, ISO) and supports marketing and new business development while upholding the corporate mission, vision, and core values.ResponsibilitiesEnsure systems and procedures support safe, profitable operations in accordance with company policies.Lead operations to meet productivity and service goals, complying with client operating agreements.Set goals to drive continuous improvement efforts.Develop and maintain productive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and business partners.Ensure OSHA, federal, and state compliance.Set and maintain client‑specific standards.Develop and manage controls to achieve service level and performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.Partner with senior leadership on the annual operating budget.Oversee safety and security of the operation.Develop the team to meet company and client objectives.Provide mentoring, succession planning, and management development at the site level.Communicate the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports.Other DutiesWork overtime as required by business needs.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly manage operations managers.Skills & AbilitiesEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s degree preferred.7 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.5 years in a leadership role within logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.Technical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Knowledge of applicable WMS systems.Language SkillsEnglish (reading, writing, verbal).Other AttributesStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Good organizational, personnel, communication, leadership, and planning skills.Advanced accounting and budgeting proficiency (P&L management).Ability to motivate teams, delegate, and create urgency.Adaptability to change and fast‑paced environments.Ability to develop effective relationships and unify diverse teams.Physical DemandsOccasional handling/fingering, sitting.Frequent bending.Constant walking and standing.Ability to lift/carry 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, outward, squat, or kneel.Work EnvironmentRare exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.Low to moderate noise level.Equal Employment OpportunityDSV is an equal employment opportunity employer.
