The ideal candidate will utilize their strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills to program, set-up, and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments that fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical instruments and industrial machines. This Machinist will have previous programming experience, along with a strong desire for continuous education to ensure they are staying on top of industry trends, and evolving machining software, programs and skills. To excel in this role, the Programmer Machinist will be able to exercise their organizational and detail-oriented skills to deliver high quality product for the organization.RESPONSBILITIES: Program, set-up and operate CNC lathes and mills (Haas preferred) to produce precision replacement and love volume partsReview samples, legacy parts, or engineering drawings to determine specifications, dimensions, and machining strategyPerform reverse-engineering, and troubleshoot as necessary to replicate discontinued or legacy partsSet-up and run keyway broaching operations as requiredCollaborate with the Engineering Department to design and refine machining processes for custom or one-off partsEnsure accuracy and quality using precision measuring tools, and maintain tight tolerances across small quantity production runsDocument processes and maintain accurate records for repeatability and machine shop knowledge retentionContribute to continuous improvement of machining practices, including process efficiency, tooling selection, and shop organization (6S)QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent2+ Years of machine programming experienceExperience having worked in small-quantity, prototype and custom part machining environmentsExperience with reverse-engineering and machining replacement partsFamiliarity with G-Code programming and conversational programming (Prototrak, Hass)Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materialStrong mathematical skills with the ability to read and navigate blueprints, schematics and manualsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and climb up/down a ladderOUR EMPLOYEE VALUE PROPOSITION: Market competitive benefits package, including company-sponsored health coverage, life insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid paternal leave and paid time offWork in a collaborative environment with passionate and innovative teammates$85 annual bonus applied toward mandatory steel toe bootsSolve is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind.
