Finance Internship - FMS- Hourly - Albany

Internship Opportunity This internship will give insight into a NYS accounting title within the Financial Management Services (FMS) unit where individuals will learn about governmental finance and gain real life experience. Tasks to be completed are as follows: Assist with preparation of division rosters to monitor position spending Assist with preparation of quarterly analyses for federal grant programs Review, compare and summarize new federal grant agreements Complete prompt contract interest calculations Review grant contracts/modifications in SFS Create and update purchase orders in SFS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Be 18 years of age or older Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State* Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent A writing Sample will be required at the time of submission Preferred Skill sets: Accounting major Working knowledge of Excel Degree Concentrations Requested: Financial Studies Preferred minimum education level: Junior Preferred maximum education level: Graduate Student Our mission is to provide outstanding services to our customersthe workers and business that call New York home.
