Job#: 3028769Job Description:Engineering Specialist 3Location: Portland, Oregon (Partial Remote)Employment Type: ContractRole OverviewThis position facilitates engineering activities by assembling and organizing data, analyzing information, and recommending action. The role involves assisting with complex construction projects by managing process requirements, monitoring project progress, and supporting Gas Supply and Engineering tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and evaluate large data sets, research data irregularities, and resolve problems.Recommend changes to the pipeline system to facilitate compliance inspections and follow Federal guidelines to meet target dates.Serve as a coordinator for monitoring the progress of compliance work and projects, incorporating information from other departments.Research records for abandonment and as-built information and review construction documentation for accuracy.Monitor SAP for inspection compliance, provide ad hoc reports, and facilitate inspection requirements with stakeholders.Perform administrative duties related to contracts, regulatory inspections, and internal/external reporting.Review and identify opportunities to streamline current workflows and processes.Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and attention to detail.Required QualificationsEducation: A two-year college degree in a related technical discipline, a professional certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in project management, engineering support, or utility operations.Skills & Knowledge:Knowledge of natural gas piping systems, engineering records, policies, and procedures.Ability to understand and apply information from maps.Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.Project management skills, including the ability to identify needs, evaluate, and present results.Interpersonal communication skills to work with individuals across all levels of the organization.Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated pay range for this position is $50.00 to $61.00 per hour.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.Apex uses a virtual recruiter as part of the application process.
