About the RoleProgramming.com is supporting a client that operates a municipal plan review platform, and we are looking for an experienced plan reviewer to join on a contract basis. This role is focused on reviewing sample plan sets, validating the accuracy of the platform's AI-generated correction letters, and helping the development team improve the system's overall accuracy.This is an excellent opportunity for a current or former municipal plans examiner, building official, architect, engineer, or permit consultant to apply their real-world plan review expertise to help refine a plan review technology platform.Who We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate has hands-on experience reviewing residential and commercial construction plans in a municipal or jurisdictional setting, and is comfortable working independently while clearly documenting and communicating findings.Responsibilities● Review architectural and structural plans, with MEP, fire, accessibility, and energy-code knowledge strongly preferred● Identify code violations, missing information, and inconsistencies across plan sheets● Prepare or review detailed correction letters● Confirm that correction comments reference the appropriate code section and jurisdiction● Review AI-generated correction comments for accuracy, relevance, completeness, and clarity● Identify false positives, missed corrections, and incorrect or outdated code citations● Compare revised plans against previous correction letters to confirm that comments were properly addressed● Clearly explain feedback to both technical and nontechnical team members● Document findings and participate in occasional calls with the teamPreferred Qualifications● Experience with California jurisdictions and California building codes, including:○ CBC (California Building Code)○ CRC (California Residential Code)○ CEC (California Electrical Code)○ CMC (California Mechanical Code)○ CPC (California Plumbing Code)○ CALGreen○ Accessibility standards and applicable local amendments● ICC certification(s)● Municipal plan-review experience● Relevant architectural or engineering credentials
