Medical Technician

Job Title Perform a wide variety of tests in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Diagnostic Immunology, and Phlebotomy in accordance with the regulatory guidelines. Set up computerized equipment by selecting and entering the correct patient ID and programs information based on the type of analysis to be performed. Prepare specimens and obtains supplies necessary for analysis. Evaluate requested procedures to determine the suitability of specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable. Calibrate equipment using standardized procedures and performs daily standardized quality control. Input data and actions in appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance logs. Perform preventive maintenance functions daily or as required.
