This role requires independent judgment, strong technical expertise, and a client-focused mindset to deliver high-quality solutions. The Principal Consultant maintains excellent client relationships, ensures compliance with company standards and procedures, and plays a key role in business development and practice growth.What You'll DoManage and deliver complex restoration and consulting projects with minimal supervisionDesign restoration solutions for building envelopes, including façades, roofs, and waterproofing systemsConduct field inspections and document restoration work in progressLead by example and foster a positive, professional work environmentComplete assignments within your area of professional expertiseAssist with preparing proposals, scopes of work, and project approachesEnsure reports, proposals, and other deliverables meet company standards and are properly signed and sealedMaintain a high level of customer satisfaction by responding quickly to client concerns and resolving issues effectivelySupport marketing and business development efforts, including maintaining and growing an existing book of businessReview draft invoices prior to final submissionMeet service expectations, including a guaranteed two-day turnaround for deliverablesPerform other duties as assignedWhat You'll BringDemonstrated experience inspecting and documenting existing façades, roofing systems, and waterproofingStrong critical-thinking, judgment, and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential informationAbility to work independently while managing multiple prioritiesRequired Education, Experience & LicensureBachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred)15+ years of experience with building envelopes, including restoration, consulting, and forensicsActive Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) licenseThe Salary Range for this position is $130,000 - $195,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVELPhysical Demands - Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client's office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.Overtime - This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch.
