GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overnight sanitation schedule is 9PM to 5:30AM. Leads a sanitation team of 4-6 employees daily with a focus on Safety and Sanitation as well as overall productivity of the team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Ability to function in ALL roles on the sanitation team including washing and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and facility
Recruit, hire, schedule and manage both daytime and overnight sanitation crews.
Develop a work environment that promotes trust, teamwork, food safety, quality, and human safety
Conduct training for sanitation personnel on chemical safety, PPE requirements, LOTO training, and proper cleaning techniques.
Assist in the building and maintain daily, weekly, and quarterly Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS)
Assist in the creation and verification of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
Periodically validates SSOP’s and sanitation programs to ensure compliance
Manage chemical inventory and sanitation tools
Facilitate the accomplishment of SSOP’s, other sanitation programs, GMP’s, food safety and SQF requirements
Assure a safe work environment and report safety concerns to appropriate Management
Train and coach new team members as needed
Assist with selection, hiring, advancement, transfer, promotion, and termination decisions for the department
Work closely with QA department to ensure all sanitation policies ensure the plant is, and stays, in a food-safe manner
Responsible for the supervision of human safety, food safety and sanitation
Assure a safe work environment and report safety concerns to appropriate Management
Responsible for food safety and quality
Other duties as assigned by leadership team
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
5+ years of sanitation experience in food or beverage manufacturing
3+ years of direct supervisory experience managing multi-shift teams.
Strong technical knowledge of COP systems, chemical interactions, and hygienic equipment design.
Working knowledge of GFSI standards (SQF), FSMA, and USDA regulations.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus).
