Job OverviewThe Senior Oracle Commerce Application Developer provides advanced analysis, design, development, enhancement, implementation, and support for complex enterprise applications and integrations. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Oracle Commerce environments and related systems, supporting web applications, portals, integrations, and day-to-day operations. The position works closely with developers, IT staff, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions while maintaining application performance, security, quality, and compliance standards.Job DutiesAnalyze, design, develop, enhance, implement, and support complex software applications and integrations.Develop and maintain applications supporting ecommerce websites, online ordering portals, associate portals, and related Oracle systems.Analyze existing code and develop effective technical solutions for defects, enhancements, and business requests.Design, develop, debug, test, and document application code.Conduct developer and team-level testing before submitting changes for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).Participate in peer code reviews and review code developed by other team members as needed.Configure and support Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and related integration environments.Evaluate new products and technologies, determine their viability, and make recommendations based on organizational needs.Research and integrate new systems and technologies into existing Oracle environments when required.Communicate technical findings and recommendations to staff with varying levels of technical expertise.Evaluate requested changes to packaged and customized application software and recommend efficient technical solutions.Develop level-of-effort estimates for business requests and enhancements and present estimates for prioritization.Follow established change management processes and document system changes, design decisions, requirements, estimates, and related activities.Support and maintain multiple nonproduction environments used for development and testing.Progress code and system changes through appropriate environments while maintaining clean and stable environments.Troubleshoot, investigate, and debug application problems and defects.Document troubleshooting activities, findings, and proposed solutions within applicable ticketing and support systems.Resolve identified defects, perform retesting, and support the progression of fixes through User Acceptance Testing.Perform scheduled maintenance activities, including stopping and restarting jobs, restarting integrations, and monitoring systems.Participate in off-hours maintenance activities when required.Monitor system performance and identify operational deficiencies affecting application execution.Recommend and implement performance improvements and remedial actions.Collaborate with developers and IT staff on security, quality assurance, backup, recovery, data security, error handling, and system controls.Follow applicable organizational, industry, security, PCI, ecommerce, and development standards and procedures.Assist in establishing standards, guidelines, and service-level expectations for web applications.Provide subject matter expertise on supported systems, integrations, development tools, processes, policies, and application code.Provide regular status updates covering individual work, project progress, performance, training, and deviations from objectives.Assist with software product assessments and provide recommendations for potential purchases.Collaborate with IT staff and business users to develop and maintain technical and functional documentation.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications2+ years of experience with HTML/CSS.2+ years of experience with SQL.2+ years of experience with XML/JSON.2+ years of experience with JavaScript.2+ years of experience with Java.2+ years of experience with Open Storefront Framework.2+ years of experience with MongoDB.Experience with Oracle SQL Developer.Experience with DevOps.Experience with Visual Studio.
