Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application. Further information regarding transcripts can be found in this document.Basic Requirement for Physician:Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association. A foreign medical degree must demonstrate equivalency to accredited U.S. schools, evidenced by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the U.S. and graduate education abroad, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.Graduate Training: After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must also meet the following qualification criteria:Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed the necessary accredited residency training in the relevant specialty (Family Medicine) and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for the specified specialty.
