To optimize the financial performance of business operations, tax strategy and business strategy have to work together across a client enterprise. As a member of MT's core Tax practice, you will have the combination of deep tax knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of business drivers to serve your clients to the best of your ability.We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our Tax practice. Our Tax Practice provides clients with tax guidance and planning as the industries are faced with many evolving issues, including challenging markets, tax changes and heightened expectations from stakeholders, as well as legislative analysis in the area of tax policy. Our people work on key client issues in federal and state taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives; corporate tax; pass-through entities; S corporations; non-profits; employee benefit plans; high net worth individuals; and industry focus.Responsibilities:Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations. Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of firm methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.Help to develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations.Demonstrates professionalism through a positive, cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidentiality and proprietary nature of client relationships and work products, particularly within the private equity and individual financial services sectors.Qualifications:To qualify, candidates must have:· An undergraduate degree in accounting or taxation· Required to possess a CPA certification or Enrolled Agent license· A minimum 7 years of related tax experience within a public accounting firm· Excellent project management and organizational skills· Advanced written and verbal communication skills· Integrity within a professional environmentSalary: $130,000Mitchell & Titus Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:All employment decisions shall be made without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other basis as protected by federal, state, or local law.
