Corrosion Analyst
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Corrosion Analyst to join our team at SURFMEPP in San Diego, CA.The Surface Maintenance Engineering, Planning, Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develop life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implement the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process. SURFMEPP is headquartered at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToApply practical engineering and analytical judgment while tracking corrosion work reported by assessment activities to support the maintenance planning processDevelop and present findings, reports or recommendations to analysts, employees, managers inside or outside of the organization, agency heads or other high-ranking officials using Microsoft products used by SURFMEPPManages surface ship class Corrosion Plans during the advanced planning and planning process.Tracks corrosion Mandatory Technical Requirements (MTRs) during CNO Availability execution. Interacts with and provides Corrosion Subject Matter Expertise to maintenance stakeholders.Have an understanding of the government maintenance team and private shipyard organizations, as they relate to condition assessment and depot level maintenance executionObtain coating and structural knowledge necessary to participate in related Communities of Practice and Knowledge Sharing Networks, as well as review and QA condition data as reported during assessment eventsHarvest and analyze data from various Navy ship maintenance databasesDemonstrates ability to follow direction and work within a team.Obtain and maintain access to private and public shipyardsGood customer relations/interaction skillsMentors less experienced employeesDirect interface with Commander Naval Surface Force Pacific concerning SURFMEPP Corrosion related topicsMinimum Qualifications10+ years relevant professional experienceAbility to prepare and present briefs related to maintenance or modernization of US Navy ships to internal and external stakeholdersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to self-start and work independently on initiated effortsAbility to work well in a team environmentCapable of providing physical ship checks onboard US Navy ShipsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.)Preferred QualificationsPlanning, execution or management of US Navy Ship maintenance, onboard US Navy Ships, at a Regional Maintenance Center or US Navy Planning ActivityKnowledge of the planning and execution of Navy Surface Ship Private Sector depot level maintenance and modernization contractsConducting work specification or technical review in planning and execution of depot level maintenanceExperience with Navy Maintenance databases a plus, especially: Corrosion Control Information Management System (CCIMS); Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) applications Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) and Validate, Screen and Broker (VSB)Hold a NACE Shipboard Corrosion Assessment Training Technician Certification (S-CAT) certificationExperience with the use of multiple databases (eDFS, VSB, NMD, MSWP, etc) for ongoing and historical trend analysisClearance RequirementsMust have a current and active Secret Security ClearancePhysical RequirementsThe person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
