Structural Engineer - Transportation Structures
Overview
As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you will support rail structural design projects and perform advanced analysis, design, and field inspections. You will contribute to planning, analysis, design, specification development, cost estimating, and reporting, coordinating with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic teams. You’ll help deliver transportation structures within time and budget, and collaborate with Design-Build Oversight Teams. This role offers exposure to diverse projects and a path to impact critical infrastructure initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesSupport rail structural design projects and perform complex structural analysis and designConduct field inspections and ensure project qualityAssist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, quantity and cost estimating, and report writingCoordinate with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers on multidisciplinary projectsEnsure project goals are met within prescribed time frames and funding parametersContribute to Transportation Structures and Design-Build Oversight Teams initiatives
Key requirementsBachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringRegistered EIT or PESignificant post-education experience in structural/civil and infrastructure designKnowledge of construction drawing standardsProficiency with STAAD, SAP, RAM Steel for building analysisProficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation; BIM tools REVIT or BentleyMS Word, Excel, PowerPointExperience in Transportation sector; AREMA understanding preferredWillingness to work at field sites and some nights/weekendsAbility to manage multiple projectsSelf-starter and independent workerSelf-motivatedIndependent work styleAdaptability to field environmentsSTAADSAPRAM Structural System
