Mid-Level Full Stack Java Developer - Detroit, MI

Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services technology team, is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile development squad within Dealer Financial Services Technology. This role is ideal for a hands-on full stack Java developer with 3-5 years of experience who is comfortable working across backend and frontend development, with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, and modern UI technologies.Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and support new software applications and enhancements to existing systems.Build backend services using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, servlets, and related technologies.Support frontend development using Angular, with React exposure being a plus.Write and optimize PL/SQL queries within an Oracle database environment.Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, story sizing, sprint planning, and deployment planning.Work closely with product owners, technical leads, and other developers to clarify requirements and deliver quality solutions.Debug, troubleshoot, and support applications in a corporate technology environment.Contribute to clean, maintainable, and testable code while following team development standards.Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.Experience:3+ years of experience in software development.Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and backend application development.Experience with Oracle and strong knowledge of PL/SQL queries.Full stack development experience with both backend and frontend technologies.Experience with JavaScript and Angular; React experience is a plus.Familiarity with Java 17+ and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular 19 is preferred.Experience with microservices architecture and Agile development.Exposure to Kafka, ActiveMQ, or similar messaging technologies.AWS and Terraform experience is preferred.OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes experience is a nice to have.
