This role is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting electrical commissioning activities for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring systems perform according to design and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include developing test procedures, performing electrical testing and validation, identifying and troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with design engineers, contractors, and facility stakeholders. The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will review drawings and specifications, verify installation quality, support start-up and functional performance tests, maintain detailed commissioning reports, and contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning processes. The role also involves collaborating closely with project teams to uphold safety, reliability, and compliance standards throughout project delivery.QualificationsStrong electrical engineering foundation, including knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and experience applying them in building or infrastructure projects.Hands-on experience with Electrical Testing and Testing procedures for power distribution, emergency systems, and related building systems.Demonstrated capability working as part of Commissioning Engineers teams, including planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities.Proficiency in Troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE) and adherence to safety and quality practices.Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.Experience in data centers, corporate facilities, financial firms, or high-rise buildings is highly beneficial; commissioning certifications (e.g., CxA, EIT/PE) are a plus.Candidate lives in the Los Angeles, CA metropolitan area or willing to re-locate.Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a minimum five years of experience in NETA TestingMust have a minimum of 3 years in Commissioning and hands on testing in Medium VoltageNETA Tester are welcome to apply.Must be able to work with limited supervision, organize own work activities, and prepare written reports.Able to travel up to 50%.Excellent communication, and writing skills.Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel)Must have a green card or a US citizenA plus:Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studiesAUTOCAD.Work Environment:Work remotely from home on reports and Method of Procedure. Travel for on site work west coast area for short durations (2-5 days). Provide consulting engineering services for electrical systems maintenance and testing services for electrical equipment in large commercial and industrial facilities. The position requires direct interface with clients and on-site work at facilities in operation or under construction. Extensive travel is required on a regular basis. Must be able to work with limited supervision, organize own work activities, and prepare written reports. Consulting engineering services may include any or all of the following depending upon knowledge and experience: Reviewing designs prepared by others; preparing studies of electrical system operation including short-circuit, protective device coordination, load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, harmonics, and reliability using advanced computer software; investigating electrical system operating conditions including measurement and analysis of steady-state and transient voltage and load conditions, power quality, harmonics, and electric and magnetic fields using sophisticated instrumentation; inspections and surveys of electrical distribution systems and preparation of electrical system drawings using computer-assisted drafting (CAD); inspections of electrical installation work in progress and evaluation of compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and accepted practices; providing technical direction to others for installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
