Payroll Billing Lead

Position SummaryThe Payroll Billing Lead is responsible for overseeing payroll-driven billing operationsacross multiple brands within a shared services model. This role ensures invoice accuracy,timely submission, and alignment between payroll output and client billing requirements.This is a working leadership role that actively supports complex pay/bill accounts whileserving as the primary escalation point for billing-related matters.Salary- $60K-80KKey ResponsibilitiesOversee payroll-driven invoice generation across assigned brands and accounts.Serve as primary operational owner of billing activities for designated billing-onlybrand.Review and validate first invoices for new accounts to ensure pricing and setupaccuracy.Participate in client implementation and kickoff calls to support billing configuration.Assist with complex billing calculations including blended rates, overtime rules, andVMS requirements.Ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices.Reconcile payroll output to billing reports and resolve discrepancies.Serve as escalation point for billing-related issues and questions.Provide day-to-day workflow direction within the billing lane.Support onboarding and training of team members as needed.Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy.Maintain documentation of billing workflows and internal controls.Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, HR, and Operations teams.Qualifications4+ years of experience in payroll, pay/bill staffing, or billing operations.Strong understanding of payroll-driven billing models.Experience reconciling payroll data to client invoices.Advanced working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, datareconciliation, and formula-driven validation of payroll and billing data.Proficiency in payroll/billing systems.Experience with VMS platforms preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage complex account structures and client-specific billing requirements.High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
