Technical Writer
SCOPECompose clear and coherent technical information, discuss software operations, write instruction manuals for Developers and IT Engineers, and possess an overall understanding of the software products and applications, and systems and infrastructure used or developed by the IS teams.This person will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and will be working with different teams in the IS department to ensure accuracy of description of software inner workings and technical procedures.AccountabilitiesDevelops a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues, and working with managers to discuss technical problems.Researches and builds knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented.Determines the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes and edits technical information accordingly.Prepares or commissions graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing.Meets with subject matter experts in order to ensure that specialized topics are appropriately addressed and discussed.Works with Architects and Developers to ensure that the finished documentation meets product requirements.Revises, edits, or updates instructions, technical information, and frequently asked questions as necessary.Creates, adapts, and follows project schedules and deadlines.Specializes in technical writing for IT industry.Remains up-to-date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to IT industry.QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or related field2+ years’ experience in Technical WritingSkills & Certifications Strong technical writing, proofreading and editing skills. Exhibits strong analytical and organizational skills. Detailed and thorough in work habits with strong multi-tasking ability. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Working knowledge of effective layout and graphic presentations. Ability to manage multiple departmental activities. Analyzes impact of decisions before execution. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette. Able to communicate with people at all levels. Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others. Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside the organization. PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
