The key objectives are categorized into five main areas – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. Working alongside other key team members is essential to accomplishing these objectives. The Production Manager is expected to motivate, inspire, and develop their team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability for meeting or exceeding customer expectations and SQDC goals.Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Manages the orderly, efficient, and safe receiving, inspecting, preparing, hanging, packaging, and shipping of customer’s product for all shifts Reviews production orders data and scheduled ship dates in order to plan department operations and establish priorities & sequences for product processingWorks with the Customer Service Representatives to plan scheduled ship dates when 1) daily production capacity is equaled or exceeded, 2) expedited orders arrive, 3) order rates require operational adjustments, or 4) production disruptions will affect customer order Reviews production reports and resolves production problems to prevent operational delaysDevelops or revises standard production practices & work instructions, conducts training, and observes workers to ensure compliance with practices & instructionsLead and develop teams that focus on Safety, 6S / 5S, production improvement initiatives using continuous improvement methodologies.Coordinates daily production meeting and ensures shift to shift continuity through effective communicationManages the inventory of production supplies and plant safety supplies including purchasing of supplies.Manage and develop direct reportsWorks alongside Human Resources Manager for continued support and development of the team. A.) from four-year college or university; or 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high degree of knowledge on order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Work ScheduleThe typical work schedule for this position is 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexible hours may be needed to support the success of the business.
