This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys building scalable backend services, designing robust APIs, and developing solutions that support enterprise-level applications.The right candidate will bring deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver modern, reliable software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to new feature development, system enhancements, and long-term platform modernization efforts.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.Build and support RESTful APIs that integrate with internal and external systems.Collaborate with product owners, architects, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering best practices.Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across multiple environments.Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture and design discussions.Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis when needed.Work closely with database technologies to support application functionality and reporting needs.Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.Assist with system modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Qualifications5+ years of professional software development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Java development.Expertise building applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.Strong SQL skills with relational database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.Experience working within Agile development environments.Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Preferred ExperienceExperience developing and supporting distributed systems or microservices-based architectures.Exposure to cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, or asynchronous processing frameworks.Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar technologies to improve development productivity and software delivery.Understanding of prompt engineering concepts and practical application of LLM-powered tools within the software development lifecycle.Experience contributing to highly scalable, high-volume enterprise applications.Next StepsNo C2C, relocation, referral, or sponsorship candidates for this role.For finer details on how eNGINE can impact your career, apply today!
