Systems Engineer (Integration, Verification & Validation)
Location: Tucson, AZ
Clearance Required: No Clearance Required
U.S. Citizenship: Required as the work location is governed by U.S. Department of Defense rules and regulations
Pay: $120k-$160K DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support integration efforts for a mission‑critical payload program in Tucson, AZ. This role differs from traditional requirements‑focused systems engineering positions. Instead, we are looking for a candidate with strong experience in verification, integration & test, and validation (V&V) —with emphasis on the “right side” of the Systems Engineering V-model.
This position is ideally suited for a senior‑level engineer; however, candidates with mid‑level experience will be considered if they possess the right integration and V&V background.
Key Responsibilities
Support system integration activities across hardware, software, and payload subsystems
Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans, procedures, and test events
Lead or support system‑level integration and test efforts
Perform requirements verification through analysis, inspection, demonstration, and test
Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate resolution across cross‑functional teams
Support test readiness reviews, integration readiness reviews, and technical interchange meetings
Ensure system performance meets mission and program requirements
Document test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and program teams to ensure successful system delivery
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities
Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model , particularly the integration and test phases
Experience developing and executing test procedures and verification plans
Ability to troubleshoot complex system‑level issues
Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Senior‑level systems engineering experience
Experience supporting payload programs or defense/aerospace systems
Background in hardware/software integration environments
Experience with formal test events and documentation processes
Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
Level Consideration
Senior Level Preferred, but candidates with the appropriate integration and V&V experience at a mid‑level will be considered.
Additional Requirements
MUST have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and MUST be able to pass drug and background checks.
