Assistant Merchandise Operations and Production Manager

The Assistant Merchandise Operations and Production Manager serves as a support to the operational and technical manager for all merchandise receiving, production, and repair functions. This role oversees the handling of fine jewelry and loose stones, from receiving and inventory management to production, quality control, client repairs, and delivery. The assistant manager acts as the systems expert for internal inventory management within the department, job assembly workflows, and repair tracking. This position is crucial for maintaining the continuity, integrity, and elevated standards the company is known for, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. This role will report to the Merchandise Operations and Production Manager.Key Responsibilities:Merchandise Receiving & Inventory Management: - Mange incoming merchandise operations, including watches, fine jewelry, and loose stones, ensuring accuracy and compliance with receiving procedures.- Serve as the internal systems expert for departmental inventory management platforms, job assembly, workflows, and repair tracking tools. Troubleshoot system issues as the go-to point for escalated situations.- Conduct regular audits of inventory processes and systems; develop and refine procedures to maintain operational integrity and support business reporting needs.Production Operations- Develop, implement, and continuously refine production schedules to meet client demands and deadlines.- Coordinate with all production partners and vendors, including procurement, design, CAD, setting, polishing, and quality control, to adhere to timelines for product availability.- Serve as the Quality Control representative or technical decision-maker for all produced pieces, ensuring the highest quality standards for both in-progress and finished products.- Identify production bottlenecks and develop proactive solutions to address capacity constraints, material needs, and scheduling issues.- Provide day-to-day technical support to production teams to ensure project success and on-time delivery.- Oversee the client repair process from intake through quality control and final handover, in close coordination with the dedicated repair team. Mange all staff inquiries for custom order in a timely manner.- Ensure technical coordination for all lines and bespoke specialty products, proactively resolving issues before they arise.- Control the data entry of jewelry line and repair invoices: creating SKU’s as needs and entering appropriate notes.-Prepare and track all outgoing repairs and orders.Team Leadership & Support - Control the data entry of proprietary lines and repair invoices: creating SKUs as needs and entering appropriate notes.- Address client issues as needed when elevated from repair team. Coordinate with sales team if necessary.- Fill in as needed for receiving of stock, watches, memo, and RTV as needed.Sales Floor Support- Submit client insurance claims and coordinate with accounts payable- Manage all aspects of license purchases after acquisition. Coordinate with management- repairs, scrapping, or inventory of products.- Enter all CPO invoices.- Provide supplemental images as needed and ensure that all appraisals are fact-checked.
