Lease Analyst

DescriptionAscent Resources is seeking an experienced Lease Analyst. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Supervisor – Lease Records.The Lease Analyst reviews, interprets, and processes the various Land-related contracts such as leases, deeds, joint operating agreements, assignments, trade agreements, right-of-ways, etc. The individual will input and/or edit the data in the property records system utilized in maintaining the company assets as well as document and cross-reference any related information. In processing and maintaining the data, the individual will review and interpret title and ownership information and coordinate with the Land Department as to lease and payment obligations, title queries, expirations, significant deadlines, and owner inquiries.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnalyze the accuracy of lease and deed information, provision leases, set up payment obligationsDetermine that acreage is properly accounted for in the systemEnsure payment information for leases and various contracts is accurate in the system and payments are made and documented in a timely manner Setup various contracts including but not limited to: leases, deeds, assignments, JOAs, letter agreements, right-of-ways, and DPUsBalance unit leasehold with DOI at the time of productionEvaluate monthly expiration reports and enter updates into the system database to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the leaseholdReview special obligation reports to ensure all obligations are being met and update the records accordinglyReview and circulate monthly rental reports to ensure that rental payments are accurate and made timelyReview transfer documentation and title information to ensure the correct mineral and leasehold ownership is reflected in the systemComplete various quality control checks to ensure the lease and contract records are accurate and up-to-dateResearch and coordinate special projects relating to lease and contract records for various departmentsPerform related duties as assigned by supervisorMaintain compliance with all company policies and proceduresKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMinimum Requirements: Excellent written and verbal English communications skillsManage information with accuracy and critical attention to detailStrong understanding of basic math conceptsPossess a working knowledge of oil and gas vocabulary as well as understand and read legal descriptions for a tract of land and have the ability to interpret land title informationAble to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlinesDemonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications with special attention to Microsoft ExcelAble to learn company specific applicationsAble to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
