This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, dynamic company committed to excellence in every project we take on.As a Superintendent you will supervise all construction activities to ensure adherence to design, budget, and schedule, as well as determine means, methods, and equipment necessary for the success of a project. The superintendent will maintain compliance, monitor contractor quality, and attend project meetings.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains labor hours below estimated rates, with 90% of estimated hours being the goal.Provides weekly look ahead schedules which project manpower needs based on the 90% rates.Ensures receivers tickets from material and equipment purchases are returned to the office for purchase order tracking.Ensures consistent positive stakeholder relations.Coordinates with subcontractors to ensure project schedule.Limits punch list costs by installing the work per plan and specifications correctly the first time.Completes the project on or before the contract's project schedule.Plans ahead so that materials and equipment are ordered well before needed, so that the purchasing department has time for cost minimization.Prepares related reports and makes recommendations to Project ExecutiveEnsures the project remains safe, free of housekeeping issues, and without incidents and injuries to the workforce.Ensures timecards are completed daily, so that the office doesn't need to send out reminders of late input.Willing to periodically travel between Southern California projects.Interface with other contractors, vendors, and client representatives.Position Requirements15+ years construction experience, concrete experience highly desiredProven experience as an Assistant SuperintendentStrong experience in labor union with multiple bargaining agreementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field desired; years of experience will be considered in lieu of educationStrong leadership skills with a record for developing and mentoring othersWork around heavy equipment and machineryWalk on uneven groundHandle exposure to noise and extreme temperaturesMust use protective equipmentAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of management and field personnelMust be able to work overtime and/or weekends as requiredAbility to travel between Southern California for projectsCandidates must have reliable transportation to San Diego, CA and will be subject to background, drug screening, and must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesEqual Opportunity Employer
