Firefighter: Valdez Marine Terminal
Under the supervision of the Fire Captains, Firefighters will provide asset protection to client facilities, property and the right-of-way and provide primary Fire and Rescue emergency response. This is a rotational position in Valdez, AK, working a 2 week on / 2 week off schedule. Transportation to and housing in Valdez is not provided. Annual pay range to start is $88,000 - $92,000.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license and show proficiency in the ability to operate, to the client's satisfaction, all fire vehicles and specialized apparatus where requiredState of Alaska Firefighter I CertificationState of Alaska Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician 1 (a.k.a. Alaska Portable Fire Extinguisher Permit Class II)Emergency Trauma Technician Certification or ability to obtain with 120 days of hireTransportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or ability to obtainAble to proficiently speak, read, understand and write EnglishESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide primary fire and rescue emergency responseMaintain emergency response apparatus and equipmentConduct preventative maintenance on fire system as assignedPerform monthly/annual inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishersAssist in delivering emergency response training to fire brigade and rescue team members.Assist in preparing pre-emergency plansAssist Alyeska Fire Safety Team in monitoring work in progress for compliance with work permits, policies, and regulationsMaintain a high degree of physical capability and agilityShall be examined and certified as medically and physically fit as required by the NFPA Standard on Industrial Fire Brigades 2000 Edition, Sections 2-5 and 2-5.3.Physical fitness will be based on job-related physical performance requirements established by Alyeska' Fire Manager and Corporate Medical Director.The medical and physical fitness certifications will be repeated annually as per NFPA 600 Sections 2-5.2 and 2-5.3.3.Perform high angle and confined space rescuesAbility to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe mannerWillingness to perform other duties as requiredWillingness to work at various locations as requiredBENEFITSFull-time regular employees have the opportunity to enroll in health insurance, life insurance, 401k Retirement Plan and short term disability insurance.
