Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

We are bringing together a team of high performing biotech professionals, leading academic institutions and a strong syndicate of healthcare-focused investors to achieve our visionReporting to the VP Finance the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be a critical leader within our finance team and a key business partner for leadership and for all functional areas within the Company. With responsibility for overseeing the financial forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning and periodic performance analysis that supports management decision making this role is a key contributor to achieving our strategic objectives and ensuring we are resourced to meet our operational needs. This role demands a high degree of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, collaboration skills and leadership to drive our financial planning processes.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of annual budgets, financial forecasts and long range planning that align with company strategy.Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance, and providing detailed monthly and quarterly financial reviews.Select and implement appropriate ERP systems for FP&A to support a more robust and matrixed financial planning function in support of the Company’s growing clinical and operational footprint.Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and guide senior executive decision-making.Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team regarding financial planning and performance.Manage planning and review processes to support compliance with regulatory requirements for financial reporting and controls.Spearhead the continuous development and improvement of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools.Enhance, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.Collaborate with other department leaders to support overall department goals and objectives.Lead the financial modeling and analysis for potential mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA highly preferred.8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with previous leadership roles in a biotech or pharmaceuticals company highly desirable.Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance.Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle).Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills.Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.Strong cross functional leadership skills and experience in organizational management.OUR VALUESRespectRespect people; their diversity, time, values, feelings, needs and preferencesBe approachable, compassionate, kind and funCollaborationDeliver via cross-functional project teamsThink to proactively share relevant informationActively listen to seek to understandDo not be afraid to ask for helpKeep a small company entrepreneurial mindset, be open and flexible about how you can contribute; lead like an ownerIntegrityBy always doing what is right by:ColleaguesPatientsDoctorsThe scientific processShareholdersEnvironmentResponsibleFollow up and deliver on commitmentsBe accountable to our peers and teams, stakeholders, patients and doctorsExcellenceBe your personal best, set and live by high standardsHave a passion for excellence and embrace feedbackEmbrace change, be innovative, creative and willing to challenge the status quoAcknowledgementReal time reward and recognition, timely recognition of our peers with kudosShare feedback proactively and constructivelyExcellent performance must be encouraged, appreciated and rewardedWHAT WE OFFER:$210,000 – $240,000Competitive compensation and benefitsJasper Therapeutics is an equal opportunity employer
