Assures compliance with the directives, policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly. Typically, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., but may vary based on needs of Ambulatory Nursing Administration team and clinic needs.Travel to clinics and regional classroom locations in the NE region will be required, as well as occasional travel to the Central region.A minimum of 2 years LPN work experience is required.Benefits of Working at Geisinger:Geisinger cares about not only its patients and members, but also about you and your family. Access free legal guidance, mental health visits, work-life support, digital self-help tools and more.Voluntary benefits including accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity insurance, identity theft protection, universal life and pet and legal insuranceJob Duties:Assists professional development supervisor with orientation, onboarding, ongoing competency evaluation and integration of new employees, including database managementMaintains current knowledge base clinically and administratively through active participation in professional, and educational nursing activities to enhance skills as manager, leader, and clinical resource.Provides educational reinforcement support as delegated by the ambulatory nursing leadership teamAssist professional development coordinator with Ambulatory Nurse Leader programAssist with ambulatory clinical skill mix assessments systemwide, providing clinical operations teams assistance with nursing skill mix optimization.Assist in review of ambulatory nursing position justifications to ensure appropriate scope assignment.Supports organizational and site-specific efforts for service excellence, financial accountability, quality improvement, and patient safety. Maintains documentation for fiscal impact tracing.Evaluates quality of care administered in assigned areas, makes rounds, and assures timely communication of significant operational issues.Focuses on empirical quality outcomes related to clinical practice.Collaborates with Ambulatory Nursing Leadership team to support the department goals and Geisinger Nursing system strategic plan.Serves as a strong role model in professional practice as evidenced by strong relationships with staff and members of other departments, effective communications, appropriate resource utilization and sound planning skills.Communicates pertinent information as necessary within the ambulatory nursing structureFacilitates team-based problem solving within and between departments.Actively support Magnet philosophies such as a healthy work environment, professional growth and patient and family involvement in care decisions.Supports Ambulatory Nursing Leadership team with administrative responsibilities for departments as delegated.Contributes feedback related to the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and proceduresServes as a clinical resource, assisting nursing personnel in attending to identified patient and family needs, obtaining equipment and patient care items as necessary, and to answer questions and solve problems within the department and the institution.Promotes and supports positive guest relations.Position Details:Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
