Automation Developer - PLC
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be required to program PLC and HMI software for company projects as assigned, work to make sure assignments are completed within budget and on schedule, and communicate effectively with team members on project status and needs.More specifically, this candidate will be hired to develop systems that control pumps, blowers, and mechanical facilities.The candidate will also be required to troubleshoot any issues that may arise out on location.Ability to work in the oil and gas field is required.Responsibilities include the following:The programmer will be responsible to assist with the design, development, maintenance, documentation, trouble shooting and debugging of PLC & HMI programs.Complete all programming projects (control logic, HMI screens, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with on-site start and troubleshoot, as needed. Assist the project manager in the development of the programming standards and library functions. Pro-actively coordinate with project managers, engineers, field technicians, and clients. Integrate programming with pumps, blowers and mechanical equipment control. Desired Skills And Experience5+ years experience in PLC/HMI programming with deployment experienceAbility to read Electrical prints, schematics and drawingsAbility to troubleshoot electrical circuits, both control and power distributionAbility to write, understand and troubleshoot PLC softwareExperience with HMI design and packagesStrong technical and analytical proficiency with the ability to multi-task effectively in a team environmentAbility to adapt well to change, while utilizing strong problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with water/waste water applications is preferredExperience with AutoCAD is a plusExperience with SCADA Software is a plusPLC programming experience with Siemens is a plusCalibration and testing of transmitters, switches, converters, recorders, indicators, actuated valves, and control loops back to PLC or DCS systemsDatabase solutionsOIT application development and deploymentOil and Gas experience is highly desirableWired and wireless Industrial Communications solutionsUnderstanding of Electrical Design and EngineeringVerifies all test equipment is NIST Traceable and has a current calibration dateUtilizes industry standards for testingExperience with developing systems to control pumps and blowers, and other mechanical facilities is a plusRequired Minimum Qualifications (Techs):High School Diploma, or EquivalentValid Drivers License with clean driving recordOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to work in a team environmentAbility and willingness to receive and follow directionAbility to clearly communicate, both verbal and writtenAbility to work safely, and recognize potential hazardsAbility to legally operate a motor vehicleAbility to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines, etc. This position will be working with 480 volts or less.
