Yard Worker/Driver

JOB SUMMARY: The hostler is responsible for moving vehicles, checking in vehicles and preparing for release or salvage. The Hostler will be responsible for taking inventory of vehicle providing pictures and condition reports. You will be provided a tablet and a tow truck to move vehicles around the yard and or move them to transports. As well as assist customer in releasing of their vehicle and or personal property. Along with maintaining the yard cleanliness. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Hostler Must have a valid Class C driver’s license. Must have a valid forklift certification or be able to obtain forklift certification as required by the company. Must have general knowledge of vehicles. Must be able to safely and efficiently move vehicles using a tow truck auto loader. Must be willing to work any assigned shift, including non-standard work weeks when needed. Must be able to communicate effectively using a cell phone, tablet, radio, or direct-connect device. Must be able to follow instructions from dispatchers, team leaders, and management. Must have a demonstrated history of excellent attendance and reliability. Must be able to multitask in fast-paced and high-pressure situations. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have active listening skills and the ability to stay focused around distractions. Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take decisive action when needed. Must be professional when dealing with customers, law enforcement, transporters, and coworkers. Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions. Must be able to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Punctuality and regular attendance is required No exceptions. Put vehicle up for auction clean vehicles out and prep them and inventory them QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be willing to work any shift and non-standard work weeks as assigned. 2. Must have a valid driver's license. 3.Must have a general knowledge of vehicles. 4.Class C driver License required. 5. Ability to safely and efficiently spot, drop and move using a Tow truck Auto Loader 6. Ability to effectively communicate using direct-connect devices / cell phone. 7. Able to follow instructions from Dispatchers & Team Leaders. 8. Must possess demonstrated history of excellent attendance. 9. Possess the confidence and ability to multi-task in pressure situations. 10. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, active listening skills, and ability to maintain focus amid distractions. 11. Problem solving skills and willingness and ability to take decisive action to overcome anticipated and unanticipated obstacles.
