Space Force System Engineering Product Owner & Technical Lead

Basic QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant supervisory experience, or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of experience.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionWe are seeking a seasoned and dynamic leader to serve as a System Engineering Product Owner and Technical Lead. You will be responsible for defining the technical direction for a large-scale solution capability while simultaneously managing a team of experienced engineers and directing multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). This hybrid role requires a unique blend of strategic product management, technical acumen, and exceptional people leadership to guide the solution from concept to delivery.Key Responsibilities:Product Owner:Define, own, and communicate the solution vision, strategy, and roadmap for a specific topic area of the systemCollaborate closely with Development Leads to ensure ongoing architectural integrity and technical enablement. Arbitrate technical decisions as neededEngage with customers, stakeholders, and Product Management to synthesize the technical solution into a coherent and executable strategyTeam & IPT Leadership: Provide direct line management for a team of senior engineers, overseeing performance management, career development, and mentorshipLead and direct multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), ensuring their efforts are aligned with the solution vision and prioritiesFacilitate cross-IPT collaboration, manage dependencies, and resolve impediments to ensure seamless integration and deliveryDrive accountability and execution excellence across the engineering teams and IPTsManage resource allocation and ensure the teams are structured for successRequired Qualifications: At least 5 years of formal people management experience, leading and developing engineering teamsProven success leading multiple cross-functional teams or IPTs in a complex, large-scale development environmentExceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 9 years of experience in systems engineering, program management, or product developmentDirect experience in a hybrid role combining project technical leadership with line managementDemonstrated expertise in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), with significant experience working with System Engineering tasksExperience in the defense or aerospace industryMaster's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business AdministrationWorkplace Options:This position can be fully remote/telework, fully on-site, or HybridWhile on-site, you will be a part of the SDA program located in Scottsdale, Arizona#LI-Hybrid#SDAGround#SDAGroundIN#SGSSalary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
