The City is hiring for 7 seasonal employees. A first review of applications will begin on March 20, 2026.Seasonal Maintenance Workers are responsible for assisting full-time staff in maintaining and improving the City's public spaces and infrastructure. This includes the upkeep of streets, parks, landscape areas, and utility services during the seasonal period. The role involves physical labor, working cooperatively with a team, and may require working in various weather conditions. The overall objective is to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the city's public spaces.Scope of Impact:The duties and responsibilities of this job are performed with latitude for independent judgement in accordance with Department and City policies, Federal, State and Local regulations and are based on detailed knowledge of department operations. Work is subject to periodic review by the supervisor, who provides input on approval of recommendations and discusses assignments, priorities and work.Essential DutiesThis job description is intended to represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department.Assist with the maintenance of the City's streets, parks, municipal grounds, buildings and facilities.Assist with the upkeep of the City's fleet vehicles and equipment.Performs seasonal tasks such as docks maintenance, leaf collection, grass cutting and snow removal.Help with the set-up and tear down of City events.Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.Knowledge and SkillsAbility to work both independently and as a team.Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.Ability to work in various weather conditions.Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and the public.Problem-solving skills to make timely decisionsQualificationsMinimum Education: NoneMinimum Experience: NoneEquivalency: Completion of an accredited Public Works Maintenance Technician Certificate could be considered equivalent for work experience.Required Licenses/Certifications: Minnesota Class D Driver's License.Desirable Qualifications:Previous maintenance or landscaping experience.This position is not eligible for benefits.01Have you previously worked as a seasonal maintenance worker for the City of Mound or another City?YesNo02Do you have experience mowing or doing landscaping work?
