Projects will likely include some plant expansion projects but focus normally on the New Product Development projects from innovation funnel to product launch to market. Duties will require overall direction, execution, control, and completion of projects.The Project Manager is responsible for leading major strategic projects and may include coaching junior PMs of smaller projects. Team management and execution skills, rather than simply project coordination, are essential. These must be combined with strong interpersonal, influencing skills.After gaining knowledge of our environment, there is the opportunity for this position to work under our Hybrid schedule working both in the office and remotely.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with all stakeholders to define and control project scopeAssemble a project team and develop their skills, vision, and accountabilityPlan, execute, and track schedules with input from subject matter experts and team membersCreate and control project budgetsAccept accountability for project execution related to safety, production ramp-up, business systems, process and quality engineering, and supply chain management.Utilize Microsoft Teams for international project collaboration and reportingProvide frequent project status reports to stakeholders and the management teamAdhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFLQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field4+ years of experience with formal Project Management methodologies with large projectsExtensive experience with Predictive or Hybrid PM methodologiesExperience with project scheduling software such as Microsoft ProjectKnowledge of Product Development and New Product Introduction ProcessesQualifications Preferred (not Required)Formal training and/or Project Management Certification, such as, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Project Manager (CPM).4+ years managing manufacturing equipment installation and startup, including trades contractors4+ years New Product Development experienceExperience managing Business Process development projects such as scheduling systemsExperience working within an Operational Excellence manufacturing system such as TPMFiber Optic industry experience, especially in manufacturing or product developmentPersonal QualitiesInitiative – willingness to take on additional responsibilitiesTeamwork – work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentCommunication – possess strong written and verbal skillsDetail Oriented – possess strong attention to detail, demonstrate personal organizationFlexible - able to apply management approaches to unexpected team member needsWorking ConditionsPrimary work environment is an office environment and within manufacturing plantsPotential for domestic and international travel when needed
