Job Description
Position Summary:The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining the plant machinery in working order.Essential Job Functions/Duties:Read / understand operating manuals for plant machinery (steam gen, air comp, wire rollers)Interpret parts manuals for purchasingIdentify / troubleshoot electrical faults in equipment and buildingIdentify / troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problemsUtilize diagnostic equipment (meters), and hand toolsBe proficient with fabrication tools (welding, oxy/acetyl torch)Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building)Help develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedulesMeet safety and housekeeping policy and proceduresRequired Qualifications:2+ year(s) industrial maintenance (mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, fabrication, pneumatic)Some technical training / certificationsMust work well independently with little directionIntermediate mathematic skillsEnglish –some Spanish is a plusCritical Skills:Communicate with co-workers and supervisors in meeting production goalsQuick thinker / strategic planner / flexible / problem solverTime management, demonstrate a sense 'urgency'Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Exposed to high levels of concrete dustWork outdoors but may on occasion work indoors. Temperatures may vary due to weatherRegularly wear protective attire, such as hard hats and steel-toe bootsExposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortableWork in extremely bright or very dim lighting conditionsShift/Hours ExpectationsMon – Fri (weekends when needed)50 - 60 hours/weekPossible night shiftAdditional Notes:Job responsibilities include but are not limited to what is listed in this document.
