Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Data Analytics Intern will join Onto’s Operations Business Unit and work closely with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations leadership. This role is ideal for a highly motivated student interested in applying data analytics to drive operational efficiency, visibility, and data‑driven decision‑making.Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across manufacturing and supply chain processesDevelop dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to support operational KPIs and business reviewsCollect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistencyApply statistical methods and data visualization techniques to communicate insights effectivelyPartner with operations stakeholders to define business problems and translate them into analytical solutionsPrototype and implement data models or automation solutions that improve reporting, forecasting, or process performanceDocument methodologies, assumptions, and findings, and present results to technical and non‑technical audiencesQualificationsUndergraduate student in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative disciplineStrong programming or analytical skills in Python, SQL, R, and/or ExcelFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn) is a plusExposure to statistics, process analysis, forecasting, or optimization techniques is a plusAbility to think analytically and approach ambiguous operational problems with structure and creativityStrong attention to detail and intellectual rigor when working with dataDemonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, systems, and business processesEffective communication skills with the ability to clearly present insights and recommendations to operations stakeholdersWhy Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
