This role is well suited for an experienced drainage engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast paced environment and is interested in growing into a task lead and, over time, a leadership role.You will contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of transportation drainage systems while collaborating closely with roadway, bridge, and other disciplines. As you grow in the role, you will have opportunities to take on increasing responsibility for task leadership, coordination, and mentoring of junior staff.Key ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with project engineers to deliver enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projectsPerform drainage analysis and design in accordance with project requirements and agency criteria, including TxDOT and municipal entitiesProvide hydraulic analysis for cross drainage structures and coordinate designs with roadway and bridge disciplinesDesign and analyze stormwater quality facilitiesSupport preparation of contract documents including drainage drawings, specifications, quantities, and estimatesPrepare project specific drainage and hydraulic reports and technical memorandumsTake on progressively greater responsibility as a task lead, with the opportunity to grow into a team leadership role#LI-JM##WCTRANSPORTATIONHere's what you'll needBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited institution or equivalentProfessional Engineer registration in Texas or the ability to obtain within six months if licensed in another stateEight or more years of experience supporting mid to large scale transportation projects with drainage design and hydrologic and hydraulic analysesAbility to communicate effectively and coordinate drainage design across all project phases with multi disciplinary teamsIdeally, You'll Also HaveKnowledge of TxDOT and municipal design criteria, standards, and specifications such as those used by the City of Austin, Travis County, and Bexar CountyExperience using OpenRoads Designer Drainage and UtilitiesExperience designing roadway enclosed storm sewer systemsExperience with the analysis and design of stormwater facilities, including detention and water quality treatmentExperience performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for cross drainage structuresFamiliarity with HEC RAS, HEC HMS, and HY 8Experience with GIS software such as ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or QGISExperience with advanced modeling tools such as HEC RAS 2D, XPSWMM, or InfoWorks ICMPosted Salary Range: Minimum102,900.00Posted Salary Range: Upper160,000.00Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
