Certified Payroll and Compliance Specialist
A large heavy civil GC and energy construction company, is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Labor Compliance Administrator to join their growing team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance across prevailing wage and public works projects, with a strong focus on certified payroll reporting, regulatory adherence, and audit readiness. Key Responsibilities: Administer certified payroll compliance for prevailing wage and public works construction projects Prepare, review, and submit weekly certified payroll reports in accordance with contract requirements Manage submissions through platforms such as LCPtracker, EBO, Empact, Compass, and the NYS DOL Portal Review payroll data to ensure accurate prevailing wage classifications and wage determinations Monitor federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and contract-specific compliance requirements Identify, track, and resolve payroll discrepancies, rejections, and reporting errors Partner with payroll and project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting Maintain organized records for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance documentation Track project deadlines to ensure timely submission of all certified payroll reports Maintain supporting documentation including fringe benefits, apprentice ratios, and worker classifications Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in certified payroll reporting or labor compliance Multi-state certified payroll compliance experience Hands-on experience with systems such as LCPtracker, EBO, Empact, Compass, or NYS DOL Portal Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and public works reporting requirements Experience reviewing payroll data for proper labor classifications and compliance Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and compliance/reporting tools Construction or infrastructure industry experience preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus Experience supporting government-funded or public works projects preferred Compensation & Benefits: Base Salary: $70,000 $100,000 Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with employer match Health Savings Account (HSA) and Dependent Care FSA Paid Time Off and company holidays Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Collaborative, team-oriented environment
