Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Med-Surg/Oncology night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PCU or oncology experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.Job Details• Acute care setting at a Level I Trauma Center,• PCU, Med-Surg, and Oncology unit with 27-28 beds,• Patient population includes adult oncology and trauma patients,• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 (PCU days), 1:5 (Med-Surg days), and 1:5-6 on nights,• Common drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix; RNs may be required to titrate insulin and cardizem drips,• Competencies in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and ICP are utilized; on-the-job training available for these skills,• EMR: Epic (recent experience within 6 months is noted for orientation planning but not required),• IV pumps: Alaris,• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a),• Every other weekend required,• Self-scheduling unit,• Float required to same level of care (Med-Surg and PCU units),• 13-week contract,Job Requirements• Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license - must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted,• Active certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA); ONS/ONCC certification also required - pending certifications not accepted,• Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology RN experience required,• Oncology experience preferred; chemotherapy certification preferred but not required,• BSN not required,• Must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility (driver's license used to verify permanent address),• Cannot be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility,• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years - must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,• Driver's license required for consideration,Additional Information• Care for a diverse adult patient population with oncology and trauma diagnoses, from initial diagnosis through remission or end-of-life care,• Unit support includes nursing assistants, charge nurses, PT/OT, RN case managers, social workers, an educator, and a dietician,• Scrub color: Navy Blue,• Orientation is approximately 2 days (12 hours); includes an open-book pass/fail skills exam requiring a minimum score of 90% - failure results in contract termination,• Hourly rounding is an expected standard of patient care on this unit,• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination,• RTO of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be disclosed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after consideration,• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Candidates who were previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms at CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities will be considered
